I’ve spent a lot of time lately building this site; the theme, the categories, the little icon system, the whole quest-log framing. And somewhere in the middle of picking colors and naming sections, I realized the actual point was never the site itself.
The point was that I had all of this; Japanese, gaming, fandom, fatherhood, building things, trying to get healthier; just sitting scattered in my head for years, half-started, never actually gathered anywhere. Ideas don’t do much good sitting in your skull. They need somewhere to land, or they just stay ideas forever.
So this is me trying to stop only thinking about doing things, and actually doing them instead. Not perfectly, not on some rigid schedule; just consistently enough that a year from now there’s an actual trail behind me instead of a folder full of “I’ll get to it eventually.”
The quest-log format isn’t just an aesthetic choice. It’s a small trick to make follow-through feel less like an obligation and more like something I’m actually tracking, the way you’d track anything else worth finishing.
One quest at a time. That’s the whole plan.
