104kg to 81kg: What Actually Changed

A year ago I was at 104kg. Right now, I’m at 81kg.

The catalyst wasn’t a fitness goal; it was a fasting period through our church. That was the actual starting point, not a New Year’s resolution or a mirror moment. It just happened to line up with a stretch of intentional restraint that I kept going past the point it was “supposed” to end.

What I didn’t expect was the shift in what I was actually chasing. It started as spiritual discipline, and somewhere along the way it became about genuinely wanting to be healthier; not just smaller, not just better in photos, but actually functioning better day to day. The vanity part showed up eventually too, I won’t pretend it didn’t. But it stopped being the driver a while ago.

23 kilos down isn’t a finish line. This category stays Active because the work stays active; it’s not a before/after, it’s an ongoing stat I’m still allocating points into. But it felt like the right moment to actually log where this started and where it’s at now, instead of just carrying the number around silently.

More on this as it keeps moving.
