The weekend before my JLPT N3 exam, we took the kids to Binondo.
There’s something about walking through the oldest Chinatown in the world with your kids that resets your head in a way that last-minute cramming never could. We wandered, ate more than we probably should have, and let the day be about them instead of about vocabulary decks and grammar patterns waiting for me back home.
In hindsight, it was exactly the right move before a test like that. You can only cram so much the week of; what actually helps is walking in without your nervous system completely fried. Binondo gave me that. And the kids got a good day out of it too, which is really the only metric that matters here.
Some quests are worth logging just because they happened, not because they built toward anything bigger. This is one of those.
