Welcome to my save file.
I’m not here to be an expert at anything. I’m here because I can’t stop starting new quests. Learning Japanese, disappearing into anime and manga, building things nobody asked for, chasing a JLPT deadline, following idols I have no business caring this much about; none of it is the “main quest.” That’s life itself, the one running in the background whether I log in or not.
This is where I track the side quests.
Some are active. Some are on hold while I deal with something else. Some actually get finished, which still surprises me every time. I’m not chasing a perfect completion rate, just logging the run as it happens.
Here’s where each side quest lives:
- Nihongrind
- the Japanese learning grind. Currently N4, aiming for N3. Expect messy notes, small wins, and probably some complaining about grammar points.
- Otaku Journal
- anime and manga, reactions and rambles, no spoiler-free promises.
- Backlog
- whatever I’m playing, replaying, or never finishing.
- Workshop
- the things I build: specrival.com, KDP books, and whatever new project I convince myself I have time for.
- Slope Stroll
- Sakamichi series news and idol culture thoughts.
- Marginalia
- personal blog posts and poetry, the unfiltered notes in the margins.
- Party of 3
- fatherhood, told from someone still figuring it out one day at a time.
- Stat Allocation
- health and wellness, because none of the other quests matter much if this bar hits zero.
I also make things along the way like cliparts, and eventually more over at SideQuesthingsShop. Consider it loot from the grind.
No single label fits everything I’m into, so I stopped trying to find one. This is just the log of someone leveling up in public, one side quest at a time.
